The bulk of this small private museum's collections—opened in 1888 in this 15th-century palazzo—were destroyed in a fire set by German troops in 1943.
But while the reconstituted collection is merely mediocre, it is worth perusing for a pair of Giuseppe Ribera canvases, paintings by Mattia Preti and Luca Giordano, the porcelain pieces and Asian arms, and above all the late–18th century setting, a palazzo ambience complete with grand salons, a library, and a preserved majolica floor up on the first floor.
