Hospitals in Palermo
The closest emergency room to the center is at the Ospedale Civico (tel. +39-091-606-1111), off Via Carmelo Lazzaro (in the upper left-hand corner of the tourist office map). Take bus 108 from Politeama or Piazza Indipendenza, or bus 246 from the train station.
A warning: Palermo's civic hospital not the most modernized of hospitals, out in no-man's land beyond empty lots and dirt roads. The people at the main emergency desk are the ones who can help you, despite that sign that tells tourists to go to some other office down around the corner (they'll just send you back to the main desk). That said, once we finally did find the right building and get service, they fixed up my brother-in-law just fine.

Pharmacies in Palermo
Other than looking at any farmacia (pharmacy's) door for the posted night-duty rotation list of neighborhood drug stores (or by calling tel. 192), pharmacies at the following pharmacies are always open at night (all in the New City):
