The Loggiato offer the chance to live in some of the Renaissance city's great architecture: an Antonio da Sangallo the Elder–designed original, built in 1527 to match the arcades of Brunelleschi's famous Ospedale degli Innocenti across the piazza, as you can see in the lower photo on the right. (A scene from Room with a View was even filmed under the loggia.)
This place used to be a student crash pad, but that age is long past. Not, the genteel rooms are furnished with canopy beds and exude a genuine antique feel. I took my parents here; they loved the place.
