Planning FAQ

Hotel Relais Il Chiostro Di Pienza [€€–€€€] -
The Chiostro di Pienza consists of 37 rooms converted from a 15th-century convent in the heart of Pienza, on the main drag just 100 yards from the cathedral on that spectacular central square. Some of the rooms have original ceiling frescoes and old peasant-style furnishings mixed with modern touches... Corso Il Rossellino 26.
Hotel Arca di Pienza [€€] - This cozy and quiet family-run hotel of just eight elegant rooms lies about 100 yards outside the the old center on the main road into town. It is kept immaculate by Gloria Bernini and her family and is the kind of place where they truly try to make you feel at home. The rooms are pretty sumptuous, the buffet spread at breakfast ample, and WiFi is free... Via San Gregorio 19.
Affittacamere Il Giardino Segreto [€€] -Il Giardino Segreto is the best bargain in town, a good €10 to €20 cheaper than its competitors yet still situated in the historical center of Pienza, in a restored 18th-century building with a wonderful inner garden with both a shady area for reading and a sunning lawn. It looks and feels much like a Tuscan country home away from home—particularly the trio of apartments, which can sleep up to four people for less than the cost of two double rooms (or two people for about €5 more than a double)... Via Condotti 13, Pienza.

B&B Antica Locanda [€€] -Antica Locanda offers unique and gracious accommodation on Corso Il Rossellino, in the very historic center of Pienza, just inside the eastern gate and less than 100 yards from the central square. The four rooms (and two mini-apartments, each with a kitchenette in the living area and a separate bedroom) inhabit the 15th century palazzo once used by the Papal Secretary, though recently renovated and filled with Tuscan antiques and peasant-style wrought-iron bed frames. Corso il Rossellino 72, Pienza...
