Tips
You will notice that all restaurants (and sights and hotels) on this site have a ReidsItaly.com star designation from ☆☆☆ to ★★★.
This merely indicates that I feel these eateries offer a little something that makes them special (or extra-special, or extra-extra special, etc.).
These star ratings are entirely based on personal opinion, and have nothing to do with any official local restaurant ratings or grades.
In general, a pricier restaurant has to impress me that it is worth the added expense.
This is why I give ★★★ to some inexpensive eateries or sandwich shops that happen provide amazing value for the money—and similarly have ranked a few fancy but notable restaurants just ★★☆.
Here at ReidsItaly.com we simply provide a general price range indicating the general amount you should expect to pay for a full meal in the eatery.
Each eatery is rated into a price category, which indicates—very roughly—what you could expect to pay, per person, for a standard full meal: Three courses—primo (first course), secondo (main course), and contorno (side) or dolce (dessert)—plus something to drink.
There are three price ranges, giving you a sense of which restaurants are budget, which are moderate, and which are splurges:
€ | under €15 |
€€ | under €40 |
€€€ | over €40 |

Since the times of Romans, the warm sand was used to cure body pains through sand-baths. During the centuries these thermal waters have had many uses, including using the heat for culinary purposes.
At the end of the tour, your driver will take you back to the port, and your guide will assist you with your ferry return to Sorrento where you'll arrive around 5pm.
Your English-speaking driver will meet you at the lobby of your hotel (or at the port), and from there will take you up the coast to the city of Sorrento. It also overlooks the Isle of Capri, an area rich with lemon gardens that are used to produce the liqueur "limoncello". This eatery will be full of Sorrentine delicacies like "parmigiana di melanzane" (eggplant parmesan), prosciutto, different types of cheeses, fresh produce, etc. You can also enjoy some fresh "limoncello" if you would like some more local flavor with your tastings.
At the end of the tour, you will be brought back to your hotel or port by your driver.

You wouldn't believe that the pizza, this tasty and modern food, is older than 400 years.
It was born, in 1600, and after the Neapolitan pizza makers had widespread variety of quality pizza among the population, there was the official approval: in 1889, during the visit to Naples of the sovereigns of Italy King Umberto I and Queen Margherita, Pizza Margherita was born in honor of the latter, with the same name.
The pizzeria where the activity will take place, is located in the center of the beautiful Sorrento, the "city of the Sirens".
With traditional wood oven, you can taste the real Neapolitan pizza, made entirely by you!
The activities will be divided into two phases.
The meeting will be planned around h 11: 00 am at restaurant located in the center of the Sorrento.
The first part will surely be dedicated to the explanation of the birth of pizza, until to discover the secrets to a great mixture. From here, the road to the practical process: after delivery of the apron to each of the participants, we will compete with the creation of the dough following the teachings of the expert pizza maker. Flour, yeast, water and a pinch of salt, and it's done!
When ready the "cake", we will proceed with the roll out the dough and then stuff it with genuine local products. Tomato, mozzarella, olive oil and of course the inevitable basil leaves.
After the batch, each of their own creation, go to the second phase of the activity: tasting pizza made with the own hands, combined with a cold drink.
Finally a delicious cake to end the day in style!
This walking tour will start with a typical "aperitivo" going through some fresh cheese (ricotta and mozzarella), salami, pasta, wine, gelato and limoncello. Of course the guide will show You the hidden corners of this beautiful town.

It is a dream place that isnt quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone.

Leave your Sorrento hotel in the morning for your full-day tour. As you travel by private minivan, relax on the journey around Monti Picentini Regional Park to the town of Volturara Irpina, nestled at the foot of Mt Terminio. Surrounded by mountains that tower to some 6,562 feet (2,000 meters) above sea level, the town and its surrounding countryside is where Campania's famed truffles grow.
Meet your truffle hunter and hunting dogs, collect your equipment, and then start your easy-paced hike that winds along the mountain paths. The hike is suitable for all, although a good standard of physical fitness and sensible walking shoes are essential. Follow the hunter through the forest, and watch as the dogs work their magic, sniffing the earth for hard-to-see truffles hidden along the forest floor. Once the dogs have scored a truffle, stop for an on-the-spot tasting with fresh ricotta cheese the perfect pairing to balance the truffle's earthy flavor.
Your forest hike lasts roughly three hours, and includes plenty of stops to take photos of the landscape and learn about Italys truffle-hunting traditions. After your descent down the mountain, meet back up with your driver and travel to a nearby restaurant for a 3-course lunch. Each dish is made with local Campania products and enhanced with the rich flavors of local truffle. Complement your meal with some Italian wine, and finish with a rich coffee and digestif (perhaps grappa or amaro).
Finally, relax on your journey back to your Sorrento hotel.
Pickup from Sorrento and transfer by minibus to Positano. During the ride, it will be possible for you to stop and immortalise the unique views of the Amalfi Drive at sunset from a terrace overlooking Positano.
Once in Positano, you will have approximately 2 hours of free time to explore the town on your own where you can visit the church of Santa Maria Assunta, enjoy shopping for some local fashions or to take a stroll on its beautiful beaches. After the free time, head to a local restaurant facing Positano coastline, where you'll have dinner with typical traditional dishes from the area.
After dinner, return to Sorrento.
Delicate spring flavours enhance mouth-watering dishes prepared straight from the heart. Such favourites as pasta with fave (fava) beans, local broccoli rabe with Italian sausage and grilled artichokes drizzled in olive oil and garlic, abound, while the sweetness of the freshest strawberries take centre stage in artistic desserts from heavenly tartlets to traditional gelato.
With the onset of 'Pasqua' (Easter) and joyous celebrations - scrumptious delights associated with this beloved holiday are quick to appear on menus. In Campania, two such dishes specially prepared for the occasion include sweet 'Pastiera Napoletana' and the savoury rustic, 'Casatiello Napolitano'.
