The floor of San Michele church in Anacapri, Capri.
The floor of San Michele church in Anacapri, Capri.
This 18th-century church is floored with a fantastical studied majolica representation of the Garden of Eden (1761).

It is filled with remarkable detail and dozens of exotic plants and beasts, including camels, bears, elephants and—naturally—a unicorn.

You can get a great overall view of this classic Neapolitan School opus from the choir loft.
