A pizza at Corte degli Sifizi, Agrigento. The real draw of the Corte degli Sfizi (which has changed hands several times—and even changed names for a while to Lumie di Sicilia) is the hidden, canyon-like courtyard, with a wooden deck and hanging lights for meals al fresco.
In the current incarnation, they seem to focus on pizzas—which aren't bad at all.
Otherwise, the dishes stick to hearty Sicilian concoctions like tagliatelle alla francescana (with tomatoes, mushrooms, ground veal, and eggplant) and orecchiette alla rabbatiddisi ("little ear" pasta with pork, fennel, and other earthy aromas).
For a main course, try their excellent fresh fish or seafood fritto misto (fry-up of calamari, shrimp, mullet, hake, etc.).
