Le Caprice

A restaurant with a view of the temples in Agrigento

Come here for the fantastic second-story view of the Valley of Temples beyond olive groves—although rushing traffic below your feet distracts from the idyllic scene.

It's a splurge, but so long as you don't do anything foolish like order the overpriced green salad, you can enjoy that view and a full meal for a reasonable price alongside regulars who eat here two or three times a week.

The menu is limited, but each dish on it is usually excellent, from risotto with seafood to cavatelli della casa (maccheroni mixed with fried eggplant, tomato, ricotta, mozzarella, and basil, then baked in foil).

If you prefer a meaty secondo, try the tasty involtini all siciliana (grilled breaded stuffed veal rolls), though they'll look a little hurt if you don't want seafood like pesce spada (swordfish) or a fritto misto fresh from their gulf.
