There are no campgrounds in the heart of Rome (think about it for a minute). There are, however, several campgrounds on the outskirts. Here's my favorite:

Camping Village Flaminio - The VIllaggio Flaminio boasts 80,000 square meters of camping—tents, campers, and RVs—plus 90 self-catering bungalows for rent. It’s actually located within the Parco Regionale Vejo, so there's plenty of greenery to go around, but it's a bit of a haul from the city center.
