Quattro Canti—"Four Corners"—is the nickname for old Palermo's dead-center intersection. The concave corner facades stack on top of their fountains three sculptural levels symbolizing the Seasons, above them the four Spanish kings of Sicily, and on top the patronesses of the city.
Today the site is choked by heavy traffic and its facades are black with pollution, but a recent cleaning has uncovered a glimmer of the grandeur the Quattro Canti must have enjoyed during Palermo's theatrical 17th century.
Around the corner is the Piazza Pretoria with its scandalous fountain.

You just notice this one on your way through. Thirty seconds, max.
Try to pass by on a Sunday morning, when Palermo traffic is relatively light. You might even be able to walk into the middle of the street to get a picture.
