Planning a trip to Enna

Getting there, tourism info and more

Trip-planning basics

  • How long to spend in Enna: Enna's not really a place to hang around. It is, at best, a stopover en route somewhere else—there's nothing wrong with it; it's just that there are so many other bits of Sicily that are far more rewarding. Pop in for an hour or two to see the sights if you're going past, but don't plan to spend any longer here unless it's merely a convenient place to stop over for the night.
  • How to get to Enna: Enna is dead-center in the middle of Sicily, on the A19 highway that meanders from Catania through the Sicilian interior and up to the northern coast (hitting it about half-way between Palermo and Cefalù). As the capital of the interior, it is well-connected by trains and buses to the rest of Sicily. » more
  • Enna tourist office: The visitor information office is at Via Roma 411 (tel. +39-0935-528-288, www.comune.enna.it). Also useful is the private site www.turismoenna.it.
