Palazzo Zuccari in RomeIn 1592, baroque painters Frederico and Taddeo Zuccari had their house near the top of the Spanish Steps fitted out with gaping, monstrous mouths for doors and windows.

If nothing else, the kids will probably dig it.

The interior is closed to the public, except for the Biblioteca Hertziana Max Plank Institute for Art History library (www.biblhertz.it), open Mon-Fri 9am–2pm (though even that is currently closed for renovations).
