You can sit outside at the box canyon–like end of the road as part of an old-fashioned Roman street dining scene or opt for the Liberty-style interior of the Ricci family's 103-year-old pizzeria.

The starched-shirt service and small pies of Est! Est! Est!—named after a sweet white wine from northern Lazio—have long been popular with the nearby police station and other neighbors as well as visitors.

The pizza is excellent, with a soft Neapolitan-style crust; try it with funghi porcini or capricciosa (mushrooms, prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes, and a fried egg). They're small enough you can (almost) eat two—though I prefer to save the room for an appetizer of supplì (gooey fried balls of rice and mozzarella) and olive ascolane (green olives stuffed with minced meat, breaded, and fried) before my pizza.

Like all ultra-traditional pizzerie, it is open only for dinner.
